CASEY’S “ULTIMATE CHALLENGE” AT OSKY TUESDAY

Tuesday night’s 12th “Casey’s General Stores Ultimate Challenge” at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa is the next round of the 2013 AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car series and the point lead is up for grabs with 60 points going to the winner of the 30-lap feature at the half-mile dirt oval.

Dave Darland, who finished second in last year’s Oskaloosa race, trails Bryan Clauson by just seven points in the new standings. Clauson was seventh at Oskaloosa last year.

Kevin Thomas Jr. sits third in the points, 46 behind the leader. Last year’s race produced a disappointing 19th-place finish for him.

Kyle Larson won the last two Oskaloosa races, while Darland won the race in 2008 and Jerry Coons Jr. was the 2006 winner.

2013 AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Point Standings: 1-Bryan Clauson-1,167, 2-Dave Darland-1,160, 3-Kevin Thomas Jr.-1,121, 4-Brady Bacon-1,110, 5-Chase Stockon-1,058, 6-Hunter Schuerenberg-1,006, 7-Robert Ballou-939, 8-Tracy Hines-937, 9-Chris Windom-782, 10-Shane Cottle-767.
